TRAIN

From the Hudson Line and Poughkeepsie Train Station
Exit the train station through the back and the parking garage. Turn right onto Water Street, continue past the Children’s Museum, Hoffman Street Bridge and the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard). It is a one mile walk from the train station.

PASSENGER CARS

From Hyde Park and points north
Take Route 9 South. There will be a series of lights along the Marist College Campus, go through all of these lights and then stay in the right lane to take the first off ramp past Marist, “Hoffman Street”. Take this spur to the Hoffman Street Bridge, take a right onto Water Street. Take Water Street past the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard), go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road.

From Points South
Take Route 9 north, stay to the right as you pass the Mid-Hudson Bridge. You have two options:

1. Take the Main Street exit immediately after the Bridge, left onto main street, pass the Train Station and take a right onto Water St., continue past the Children’s Museum, Hoffman Street Bridge and the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard), go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road. This route brings by restaurants and stores if you are interested in stopping for food, coffee, a haircut, a paper, etc.

2. Take the second exit past the Bridge – Albany Street. This will also be a right hand exit, go through the flashing red light, and take a left onto Hoffman Street to Hoffman Street Bridge, then take a right onto Water Street. Take Water Street past the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard) go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road.

From the Mid-Hudson Bridge
Take the first exit off the bridge for Route 9 – immediately get to the right and follow directions for the Main Street or Albany Street Exits.

From Route 44/55 and points East
1. Take the arterial (44/55) to the Mid-Hudson Bridge but get off on the Route 9 exit just before the Bridge (stay to the right). Follow directions for the Main Street or Albany Street Exits.

2. Take the arterial (44/55) to the Intersection of Market (Mid Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie Grand and City Hall are on this corner). Stay to the right and instead of veering left with the rest of traffic, stay straight and follow Mill Street. There will be two lights, veer to the right at Cafe Aurora and continue on Delafield St. Go approximately 4 blocks (past Mt. Carmel) to the light at Hoffman St. Take a left onto Hoffman St. to Hoffman Street Bridge, then take a right onto Water Street. Take Water Street past the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard), go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road.

TRAILERS

From Route 9 going North or Routes 44/55 West
Take the Main Street exit immediately after the Bridge, left onto main street, pass the Train Station and take a right onto Water St., continue past the Children’s Museum, Hoffman Street Bridge and the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard), go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road. CAUTION – turns are tight and street signs are numerous – watch your bows and sterns.

From Route 9 going South or the Mid Hudson Bridge
Just past the Bridge exits there will be a “Rinaldi Blvd.” Exit on the right side (trailers coming off the bridge exit will need to immediately cross over to the right side of Route 9). At the end of this exit take a right and then another right onto Rinaldi Ave. Take Rinaldi to the end (Train Station will be at the end). Take a left onto Main Street and an Immediate right onto Water St., continue past the Children’s Museum, Hoffman Street Bridge and the construction site (old Dutton Lumberyard), go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road. CAUTION – turns are tight and street signs are numerous – watch your bows and sterns.

Special Parking Notice from HRRA:

ALL rowers should park in the south gravel parking lot - all the spots along the back of the building are reserved for summer coaches, HRRA board members and the HRRA volunteer of the year!  Spots north of the boathouse are not our property and we don't have permission to use it for regular activities - yes even the small patch of asphalt right at the beginning of our lot.
