Learn To Row (Download Brochure)

The Mid-Hudson Rowing Association Adult Learn-to-Row (LTR) program teaches you to row on the historic and scenic Hudson River.  Learn-to-Row sessions are conducted on land at the boathouse and on the river, and are designed for adults who have never rowed before.  We teach you the fundamentals of rowing and boat and equipment handling under coach supervision while you enjoy the camaraderie of club members. LTR sessions are held in May, June and July.  Each session is two weeks long, with eight two-hour classes held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings.  See schedules below.   For more information contact Candy Davies email, or call (845) 452-2970.

Learn To Scull

Sculling Clinics are open to any level sculler from beginner to intermediate, although some prior sweep rowing experience is required.  The Clinics are coached by Club President and Coach, Bill Davies.  Bill has over 25 years of competitive sculling experience, is an USRowing Level II certified coach, and a coach at the Craftsbury Sculling Center.  Beginners will learn the basics of sculling while intermediates will improve their skills and confidence on the water.  Participants row in doubles primarily, although we also use Club training and racing single sculls.  Each Sculling Clinic is composed of six outings over two weeks.  Classes are Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 5:30 AM and Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7 AM.  Dates for 2009 to be posted soon.  For more information contact Bill Davies email, or call (845) 452-2970.
